Dr. Milind Bhide established Hyderabad Eye Centre in 1999 after coming back from a stint of eight years in the United Kingdom and nearly two years in Australia. The Centre is now a full-fledged Day Care Ophthalmic Procedure Centre performing all kinds of surgeries of the anterior segment of the eye. The main Hospital in Himayathnagar is easily accessible from Hyderguda, Narayanguda and Himayathnagar and because of it location in a lane there is plenty of parking place in the vicinity. Hyderabad Eye Centre is a modern Day Care Eye Hospital with consultation rooms on the ground floor and Operating suite on the first floor of the building. Lift facility is available for all the staff and the patients who come for surgery and also to visit the compact optical outlet on the second floor of the centre.

The consultation room is clean and well equipped for a thorough eye examination. The waiting room is aesthetically designed and plays nice music in the background for keeping the patients entertained. The staff are very polite and helpful and there is plenty of reading material both informative about various eye diseases and otherwise. Before the patients sees the doctors he is led into a small room for refraction by a qualified optometrist.

Hyderabad Eye centre also runs sub speciality clinics like Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus. Oculoplastics and Medical Retina in addition to General Ophthalmology.The Operation theatre maintains highest standards in sterility with the help of experienced OT technicians and scrub nurse. Dr Milind Bhide personally takes interest in ensuring that everything runs smoothly on everyday basis. There is a good UPS back up for the consulting room as well as Operating room in case of power failures.

Hyderabad Eye Centre is a renowned place for quality eye surgery, where many junior Ophthalmologists train and take advise regarding various Ophthalmic surgical and medical problems. The Centre has expanded its services to Somajiguda area where a full fledged clinic has been established in the lane opposite to Enadu TV office on the Raj Bhavan Road. Dr. Milind Bhide is consulting there by appointments in the morning from 9.30 am to 12 noon from Monday to Friday. There is a dedicated Optometrist and an Optical Outlet in both Himayathnagar and Somajiguda to help the patients in selection of frames and making glasses ranging from Indian to international brands.

The hospital is empanelled for cashless facility with various TPA’s like FHPL, TTK, Medi-Assist, Star Alliance, MD India, Raksha, ICICI prudential and Heritage health care. It also caters for patients from other TPA’s and State and Central government employees by operating in other accredited hospitals. There are 10 inpatient beds for emergency purpose only. Inpatient service is not provided at the centre since all are Day Care Procedures. Dr Parakh is the Consultant Anaesthesiologist of the Centre and is available to take care of patients even if the procedures are under local anaesthesia. It is one of the few centres where topical anaesthesia ( without injection ) cataract surgery with intra-operative monitoring is offered. The comfortable atmosphere and the cordial staff at the Centre allay the anxiety of the patients and make your experience at the Centre a pleasant one. We have enormous experience with various types of premium intraocular lenses like Aspheric, Toric and Multifocals. Till date we have done over 10,000 Phacoemulsification procedures using various types of IOL’s.

Lasik procedures are done at the Laser Vision which boasts a state of the art Scwind Esiris excimer laser. The machine is capable of both customized and Wavefront guided procedures. Till date more than 2000 Lasik procedures have been performed using both conventional, customised and Wavefront guided techniques. For those who are disappointed because of not being suitable for Lasik, we offer other refractive procedures like Refractive lens exchange and Phakic IOl (ICL) to help them achieve there goal The staff at the Centre includes Dr Milind Bhide, who is a full time consultant, other visiting Consultant Ophthalmologists, an Anaesthesiologist, 2 Nurses, a Ward-boy, a Manager and a Receptionist.

Doctor's Profile

Dr. Milind Bhide is a student of Osmania Medical College as an undergraduate and of Gandhi Medical College as a Post Graduate. He completed his MS in Ophthalmology from Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad and then went abroad to further his training in Ophthalmology. He completed his FRCS from Edinburgh in 1991 and then acquired the prestigious FRCOphth from London in the same year.

After coming back to India in 1999, he has worked as an Honorary Consultant in  Ophthalmology in Lion's Charitable Eye  Institute  for 5 years before going completely in private practice. He has trained many young Ophthalmolists in city in latest techniques in Cataract Surgery.

During his tenure in the UK he has done a Fellowship in Occuloplastics with Dr. Richard Collins, who is a world renowned Oculoplastic surgeon, at Moorefields Eye hospital, London. He has also worked in Kings College Hospital, a premier teaching hospital of the UK, apart from working in other hospitals in Portsmouth, Swansea, Dorchester, Basingstoke, Whitehaven and Bradford.

Later he went on to work as a Specialist Ophthalmologist in Australia for almost two years along with Dr. Inderjit Singh, himself a world renowned authority in Cataract Surgery. Currently he is a Consultant and Visiting Surgeon in Laser Vision, Provision, Keshav Netralaya, Anand VRI and several other Hospitals to offer state of the art care for patients who are unable to avail the facilities of Hyderabad Eye centre for various reasons.
